Overview

LAYER is a Material Design 3 component library showcase presented as a real SaaS product. 398 of 412 CSS variables from a systematic token system. A floating control panel allows real-time adjustment of the entire design.

Challenge

MD3 is the most complex design system Google has created — dynamic color, shape tokens, motion tokens, elevation levels. We needed to implement it faithfully while making it feel like a real product, not a component catalog.

Solution

Full dashboard with nav rail (IntersectionObserver highlighting), stats cards (animated counters, sparkline mini-charts), revenue chart with SVG path morph transitions, activity feed with staggered scroll reveals, and project progress bars. Floating control panel modifies border radius, elevation scale, and motion speed via CSS custom properties. Material ripple effects. 93 ARIA attributes.
